These are Rachel's 8th grade pictures. She is so cute and I had fun trying to make her do serious poses :) During the pictures her little brother, Gavin kept popping in the pictures. Then, he asked me to take a few of him and I told him once we were done with Rachel's pictures, we would take a few of his. When we were about to rap up, I told him I was ready from him but he ran to the house. To our surprise, he comes out with a WHOLE new outfit on. New shirt, jeans, and even shoes. It was so cute. He posed in the same spots as Rachel. Then, Katie, who I took pictures of a few weeks ago, was again cracking me up. She kept asking "let me see the picture" and when I would show her a picture of HER she'd say "oohhh prettyy." I don't think I ever stopped laughing!

Such a fun wedding, bride and groom, and wedding party. Seriously, they are such a riot. We started the day out with getting Kristi ready at the church. From there, we went to her Grandpa's farm to take some more pictures. We took engagement pictures here too so I was really excited when she wanted to go back. The whole time her Grandma, Grandpa, and Uncle watched, it was so cute. After they saw each other for the first time, we got all the (crazy) bridal party together. From trying to get Al to be serious, and making the guys put their cigarettes out (lol), we got such cool pictures. Everyone wore cowboy boots and I felt left out. I really wish I would of worn mine!

Anyways, fun wedding. I loved it. Kristi...get married again please, to Jordan of course :)

On Friday, MARENTA AND PATRICK GOT MARRIED! I was lucky to not only take the pictures but to stand up! I had the best time and I'm so happy for them! Everything was beautiful! From the cool church they got married in, Pistol Pieter Aukeman's 25 minute robot dance, to catching the bouquet ;) it was all a blast! Amanda VanVels and Bre Koster helped with pictures and they did a great job. I'll post more later but here is just a little sneak :)

P.S I don't know how they got out of order and I can't figure how to fix it, but you get the point!

I see photographers whether it be on twitter, facebook, or even via blog stalk, updating their blogs all the time and I don't know how they do it. To be completely honest, I hate blogging. I hate talking about myself, being on my computer more than I already have to. As for right now, I am in class, trying to make the most out of this boring lecture by multitasking. Someday, I hope this to be more like a Journal but for now, with school, I don't have as much time as I'd like.

Speaking of school, it's started. I transfered from Grand Valley to Davenport and so far so good. It's a huge difference from the big school I'm so used to but it will be AWESOME to have my bachelors in a year. I'm still kicking out senior pictures and doing weddings back in full mode now with Kristi and Jordan on Saturday, Marenta on the 18th and Kody and Olivia on the 25th. I've been looking forward to my fall weddings all summer and I'm excited for all of them!

As far as my "recent work"....see above.

I would say I'll post more later..by later, not tomorrow, but maybe next week.

So...Do you remember that HUGE rain storm that took over June 19? Well, we do! The wedding was held at Windmill Island, which is all outside! It poured and poured so we had to go to plan B and take some pics at City Flats Hotel in Holland which ended up being REALLY cool. As soon as we got done there, the sun was out! The rain held up for the entire ceremony and when we all moved to the tent, it down poured! Thankfully, we were in a tent but the water snuck in through the bottom of it and got our feet a little wet, but no harm there. It was so fun and defiantly made us laugh. I'm sure no one will forget that wedding! Plus...rain means good luck! :)

Seriously... I love what I do. Most people sit in an office from 9-5, 5 days a week and I get to wander around with my camera. I love it and Kaitlyn and Adam's wedding defiantly made me realize how awesome I have it! :)

Everything went perfect. Not one complaint, except for maybe when Katie dropped her glass of beer on the dance floor and shattered into a hundred little pieces..hah, just kidding Katie :)

Kaitlyn was beautiful. Being a hair dresser, I know she was scared about how her hair turned out and thankfully it was amazing! At one point she said..."I feel beautiful..Is that Ok? I don't want to sound conceded but really." --Perfect! A pretty bride makes for pretty pictures right? :) And those bridesmaids! EVERYONE at this wedding was a blast. From the pictures, to the school bus party, the guys thinking of "gay" poses to do for Bre, my assistant, I don't think I ever stopped laughing from the time we got there till we left.

Nicole: Senior and Jed & Heidi: Engagement Session

Cool Boots ;)

This session was so fun. I hung out with Nicole's family in high school and I was so happy I could take her pictures. Wandering from Byron Center to Wayland to Grand Rapids, I'm happy we could get some cool spots! Even knocking on random (creepy) farmhouses was fun! Ha!

The next session was awesome, not too hot, not too cold! We went downtown and wandered around like usual and Jed told me about this cool abandoned gas station. Took us awhile to find it, but we got it! We didn't start till 7, so the lighting was a lot different that what I was used to lately but I love it! Can't wait for the wedding, August 21 :)

Definitely a fun day. The reception, which was at Till Midnight at Holland was awesome! Jen, from Modern Day Floral did a great job at decorating the place. All the flowers were awesome too. The bridal party was a blast to hangout with and I couldn't believe everyone (EVEN GRANDPARENTS!) were still full force dancing at 11:30 at night! It was Great! So.. I definitely have NOT been updating my blog as much as I would like but seeing that everyone is watching the superbowl *gag* .. what a better time to update :)

Saturday, I met up with my friend Megan who is very, very, pregnant but you wouldn't be able to guess by looking at her..She's so cute! The only thing "pregnant like" about her is her belly which is probably a good thing. Her boyfriend was a good sport and tagged along and helped with the transportation of my new ugly chair! I went bargain hunting at all the Goodwill's I could think of and I finally found my perfect "ugly chair". I was trying to think of new ways to do photography in the winter but your kind of limited because you can't sit down (Nobody wants to sit in the snow!--I don't blame them...) I love it and all of its "uglyness". As you can see, I feature my new prop in our session.

My next session, was just a quick one that we did today. Although it was meant to be quick, it defiantly did not end up that way. We started in GR and had some technical difficulties and ended up back in Hudsonville. Christy was going to bring a chalk board over to use but she left it on the top of her car and didn't realize it until it was too late. Now....some lucky person will be driving down the road and will get to enjoy the glory of that chalk board. Luckily my boyfriend's mom had a sweet one we could use..and a cool house to take pictures at. Thanks for that Mrs. A!

Anyways, we wandered around and got some good shots for their "Save The Date Pictures". I messed around with the layout but I really like them. Can't wait for their Wedding!

Here is just a really quick look at one of my best friend's growing up. Erin was my neighbor growing up and was def. the sister I never had. She's all grown up now and engaged to one of the nicest guys ever, Matt. We took the pictures at Grand Valley because they both go there for one. Two..Because he proposed here. And Three..Because it's beautiful! The pictures turned out really great even through the nasty cold, and RAINY weather!

So.. in high school I had five best Friends and we naturally (thinking that we were cool or something?) called ourselves the fab five. Jessica was defiantly one of them and I am so lucky to be able to take her and her adorable son, Jayden's one year pictures. I remember sitting in class getting a million text messages saying "She's going into labor, get down here!" I quick ran out of class and met everyone down at the hospital and sitting outside the door until we could finally hear him crying. It was one of the coolest moments being around all of my best friends while a new little guy got to come into our world. He had a HUUUGE fan club waiting to meet him and I have loved being able to keep up with her new little family. Now, Jessica and Nick are ENGAGED! ANNNNND I even get to take their wedding pictures! :) I'm so excited and soooo happy for them. Can't wait for engagement pictures!!!

Okay. So... I love Scott and Tara! I hooked up with them through my friend Jessica who is Tara's Brother's Wife, if you follow that. I took Jessica's family pictures (Remember the cute pregnant girl and the adorable little girl? Yeah, that's them!) Anyways, so Jessica talked to Tara about me and apparently she was interested but the only little road block was that they had already booked someone else. Tara is at school in Indiana and because we're both so busy we talked over email everyday. After talking to her and meeting with Scott and Tara's mom...They decided to cancel with their other person and go with me. YAY :) :) :)

After talking to their family I really feel like I know them! Jessica is ready to pop that little girl out and Brian, her husband actually just got deployed which is a bummer but I'm sure we'll get enough pictures of her to make up for it..riiight? haha. As for now, lets just cross our fingers for Jessica that everything will go smoothly and Bryan will make it back for Scott and Tara's Wedding!

Okay.. So.. As you can tell.. 3 people in one post? What is this??? Well.. I definitely am behind on blogging hence the broken laptop. I have it back now and everything is better. The first two people are Hannah and Ethan. Ethan is one of my families' good Friends. I grew up next to them and was like a brother to me! I can't believe how old he is now, and grown up! It's crazy! What's even more crazy (and exciting) is that his sister, Erin, is engaged! She was always the older sister I never had and it is crazy to thing how fast everyone is growing up.. I love it! Anyways, his pictures were really fun and I was glad they choose to go with me. As a little added bonus, I got to take pictures of his adorable girlfriend, Hannah. Her pictures turned out awesome too!

The final pictures are Tyson. It was the first time I had to risk my life to take a shot. Well..not really risk my life, but something close to it. I stood right in front of him to take a picture of him with his bow. So.. Tyson...thanks for not letting that thing go. Def. was a good choice. They turned out great too!

So...I haven't gotten a chance to blog in awhile because my computer is still broke. I have so many seniors to update and I'm sorry there not up yet but I'm trying!

A few days ago, one of my freinds ran across a site that actually had a bunch of my pictures posted on the site. The girl even wrote Captions that she had taken them. I really couldn't beilve it and I'm sure she never thought I would see them. My freind Allie's pictures were on there too! I couldn't belive it. She ended up telling us who she was and hopefully she won't do that again but I guess that is the price I pay for not putting a label on mine.. From now on I'm pasting my name on everything! haha but here are a few of Kristen. She was so fun and she likes photography too :)

So, Sunday Night my computer screen cracked which equals no computer for me for a few weeks. I brought it to Best Buy and the weird Geek Squad People backed everything up and put it on a hard drive so I could still work on my stuff from someone Else's computer.. Especially my PICTURES! I was so happy that I didn't lose anything. So .. this means that it might take a little bit longer for me to get everyone's pictures to them but not by much. I'll try my best and let everyone know as soon as there in! Just didn't want anyone to think I forgot about them!

This is one of two sessions that I did yesterday. I met up with my old friend from middle school and I got to meet her beautiful family and take their pictures. I was so excited! Their daughter Roxy Lee is probably one the cutest babies ever produced. She was so fun to work with! She was running around and laughing at everything. Most of the time she was trying to steal my camera and take pictures herself! haha. I loved it. Jessica is expecting another baby girl and looked just as cute as her daughter! I had such a good time and I can't wait for more sessions with them! :)

So...I had two sessions in one day! That was a first. After work I met up with my old Friend from middle school and I had the privilege to meet her beautiful family. Bryan, Roxy and the baby girl on her way. Roxy is probably the cutest little girl ever produced! She was so fun and curious! She even helped me take some pictures! Jessica, who is expecting really soon was just as cute! I loved it! I had a great time and I can't wait to take pictures of the "baby sister" someday :)

My next session was Cam. We went downtown to take his senior pictures. I always try to have everyones senior pictures in different locations with different backgrounds. We wandered around for a little big and found this random road with a ton of fun walls, scrap yards, and an old train (which may I add almost ran us over haha). They were fun and once again..another SUCESS :)

With Kevin and Justine that is..hhaha... I am so honored to one, be their freind, and two, to take their pictures! From the time I met with them right up till the end they were laughing and making jokes the whole time. I've never meet two people so right for eachother and I'm so happy for both of them! I CANNOT belive how busy I've become! That's good though.... Right? I think????? I started school this week and my schedule is crazy! The first day of class is always a little fun, until you have to sit for an hour in each class listening to the same rules and sylabuses for each teacher but that's okay. I was kinda pumped beacuse I got to see my friend Betsy from the dorms, so that was good. Other than that..I'm trying to do 19 credits again, work, and keep up on pictures..and everyone's emails!

Tuesday, after class obviously, I headed to Downtown Holland and met up with my Friend Laura from high school at Lemonjellos. It's crazy to think how I haven't seen some of my good friends in a year! After my little chat session I got to take some senior pics of Maddy. It was an awesome day, and we even got some shopping in! haha

I used both of my cameras..so here are a few pictures from one camera, more from the other one coming soon!

The Beast

Here are some pictures from the weekend up at the beautiful Torch Lake. I was lucky enough to be included on The Koster's Boat Trip. It really was "Summertime in Northern Michigan" just like Kid Rock says in his song.

I'm sure everyone got annoyed with me having a big camera shoved in their face, but how could I pass this up? The new camera was sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeet. I loved it but the idea that me and Elle had school on Monday made us slighly depressed but we got over it pretty quick.

Check out this kid. He rocked the serious face like a champ. This was my first time shooting with my new camera and thanks to Kyle and the people at Norman Camera, I could actually learn the right way to work a camera! AHHH SO EXCITED! I brought along my old camera just in case I couldn't figure the new one out. Luckily for me, Josh's sister tagged along and served as a great assistant carrying around my old one.. Thanks Kelsey :) They turned out great!

P.S: This is day two of stealing chairs. This one was from Vertigo Record Store, so thanks for that :)

What a perfect day! Me, Haley and her mom headed to East town to take some pictures this morning and even though I locked my keys in my car in the morning, everything else turned out perrrfect! The session went perfect and was full of things I've never done before..like coffee cups? stealing chairs from coffee houses? pictures INSIDE a store? water fountain things? So cool. We all had a blast and to top it off the pictures turned out awesome!

haha Haley.. i told you it would be fun :)

Just the beginning..

So..this whole blog thing..

Not quite sure how to work it but I thought I should give it a try. This way people can have a link to get a look at some of their pictures before they are ready. Hopefully I can make time to keep it updated. I've been crazy busy with trying to figure out my classes. Yes, classes are a few weeks away and I have yet to do so..YIKES! On top of that I have my internship at Dan Johnson Photography which is way fun. I really do like it there. THENN on top of all that I'm having fun taking pictures whenever I have a minute. But as for now, I'm just dreading the day that classes start and trying to enjoy every last day of summer :)

Here are some pictures from Monday night. From hair extensions, 10 people in Christy's room, Dinner, outfit changes, and a sleepy baby (and Bobby) ..we finally got there! It was just about 9:00pm! It was really dark but it made for some fun pictures.

I could not get over how happy Calynn was. Never have I seen a baby laugh so much! I loved it! AND I couldn't believe how BIG she's gotten.. She's already 6 months old! It's crazy. Hopefully Bobby can hang some of these up at college :)
